Doctor Zhivago (1965) - 'Lara Says Goodbye to Yuri' scene
Lara's Theme is one of the most famous pieces of film music ever written. Some might say it's overused, both in the film it was written for, and everywhere since. But it had undeniable charm, and that elusive mix between romance and tragedy. As recently as 2018 it was being used in other films - such as Ocean's 8, seen here: ua-cam.com/video/UK0FCbyeTGU/v-deo.html
This scene, from the middle of the film, is on the first times it is heard in full force, with the tragic component coming to the fore, as we begin to associate it with this doomed love story.
Starring Omar Sharif, Julie Christie, Geraldine Chaplin, Rod Steiger, Alec Guinness, Tom Courtenay and Omar's son, Tarek Sharif. Screenplay by Robert Bolt, based on the novel by Boris Pasternak. Directed by David Lean, with an Oscar-winning score by Maurice Jarre.

Polish composer Jan A.P. Kaczmarek won an Oscar for this score, and throughout the film it's easy to see why. The music lifts the film - quite literally, in this scene. Starring Johnny Depp, Kate Winslet, Julie Christie, Radha Mitchell, Dustin Hoffman, Freddie Highmore, ian Hart, Kelly Macdonald, Mackenzie Crook and Toby Jones. Directed by Marc Forster, with a sublime original score by Jan A.P....

Is there a more distinctive piece of film music from the past decade? Probably not. This very early scene was when the audience first started to realise they were listening to Hans Zimmer's finest score. Starring Matthew McConaughey, Ellen Burstyn, Mackenzie Fox, John Lithgow, Timothée Chalamet, Anne Hathaway, Wes Bentley, Casey Affleck, Jessica Chastain, Topher Grace, Matt Damon and Michael Ca...

The main problem with this film is having to cram Stephen King's very thick novel, full of character background, into a two hour film. Still, it has its moments, often thanks to a devilish score by composer Patrick Doyle. This brief standalone piece is the highlight. It's a perfect fit for this scene, but the director and editor must have liked it a lot, because they copy-pasted it for the film...

This was the one piece of music that stayed with me as I left the cinema back in 2005. The film and franchise was clearly hoping to be the next Lord of the Rings, but if didn't quite reach those heights. Two of the reasons are on display here: everything looks too clean and neat - as if the costumes are all brand new; and the visual effects were at times painfully bad - like these giants and so...

The main theme in this score - Manny and Nellie's Theme - is a versatile one. In its fast, jazzy variation, it weaves through crazy orgies and frantic film sets. Then, in its fragile version, it helps highlight the bond between two of the main characters. Here, in the final shots of the film, as everything is tied up nicely with an homage to the history of cinema and visual effects, the fast ve...

This chaotic but amazing film often relies on Justin Hurwitz's score to keep it together, and to guide the audience through the fast-paced subplots unfolding on screen. The opening fifty minutes are mostly crazy, but then, like a much-needed breeze of fresh air, this magical scene arrives. It's over the top, it's cheesy... but it's wonderful. Hurwitz manages to grace it with a piece of original...

Eclipses are such surreal and yet brief events, that they're perfect for use in stories. Stephen King used one to great effect in his novel, and composer Danny Elfman helped transmit some of the other-worldly feeling of those few moments. Starring Kathy Bates, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Judy Parfitt, Christopher Plummer, David Strathairn, John C. Reilly and Bob Gunton. Screenplay by Tony Gilroy, bas...

Basil Poledouris was excellent at scoring action scenes. Here, in the early part of the film, he scores an exciting chase with a standalone piece of music, saving the Robocop theme for later, once the shift from man to machine has been made. Starring Peter Weller, Nancy Allen, Ronny Cox, Kurtwood Smith, Miguel Ferrer, Robert DoQui, Ray Wise, Felton Perry and Paul McCrane. Directed by Paul Verho...

There are many things that make this film excellent. The restraint in revealing the title character is one of them*, and composer Basil Poledouris follows suit with his main theme. As the character is revealed in mostly silent scenes, this montage is the first time that Poledouris unleashes the main theme in all its glory. Starring Peter Weller, Nancy Allen, Ronny Cox, Kurtwood Smith, Miguel Fe...

Sometimes you need a montage. Sometimes you need a complex montage that lets the penny drop and explains a lot to the audience. And sometimes too much info can be overwhelming. So what do you do? You ask your film composer to smooth everything over with a lively cue to keep things fun. This was the scene that first made me look up Daniel Pemberton - one of the most exciting (and busy) new score composers of the past decade. He manages to channel Morricone with the primal scream that punctuates this sequence, and the whole thing is a joy to watch and listen to. (It works even better on the soundtrack album, since there are less gaps.) Starring Henry Cavill, Armie Hammer, Alici...

Must salute the daring casting of Bruce Willis, who till 1999 was just another action star. Who thought he would give such an understated yet one of decade's most underrated brilliant performance ever. It's criminally shameful that the academy overlooked Willis. After Pulp Fiction, this should have taken Willis being considered a serious damn good actor rather an action hero. Kudos to Shyamalan to have faith in Willis. Now this role unimaginable without Willis.

Moses warned Rameses that something bad & more worse would be coming. Unfortunately, blinded by stubbornness, he made a very costly mistake by saying he would repeat what his father had done years ago Moses knew what he was gonna say & tried to warn him not to finish the sentence. Regrettably, it was too late for Rameses when he finished saying it. The words shocked his son & Moses' nephew, including Moses himself Upon hearing it, he looked at his nephew knowing that now his father would pay the price. The only thing Moses can say is that Rameses brought the final plague upon himself. After that, Moses told the Hebrews that god came to him and instructed them to paint the doorframe with sheep blood so that he would know which one was them to avoid True enough, god spared the ones who painted their doors with sheep blood. Many firstborns died on the spot & Rameses, mourning the loss of his son, soon allowed them to leave

everybody ignores this.. they hve deep bias for t2 ppl even call T2 better than original in terms of story.. so u can see.. ppl are sucker for candy family drama and superhero flick jus copy paste any other self sacrificing hero in place of t800 and it would still be the same movie.. jus not title of terminator also there is accusations of terminator being throw-minatorin later parts i.e 3 and 4 where as in t1 terminator arnold kills that guy in Sarah's friend house exactly same way. i e throwing him here and there also.. T800 in that scene was there assuming Sarah's friend is actually sarah Connor meaning prime objective still that t800 made loud af noises in dealing with that guy.. Sarah's friend had headphone on thats why she didnt hear but can u believe touting itself to be infiltration unit bla bla t800 and knowing 0 in stealth but still we love T1 T2 also craps all over T1 things and restarts this cycle of time travel.. but it is also a masterpiece does T2 not have flaws or plot holes or a villain giving a mean look instead of jus finishing the job it does but still T2 is great masterpiece.. why the hell does t3 irks ppl than T3 is honest to original plot not the no fate what we make that started in T2 and u can have the alt T2 ending if u like but the truth is T3 is more lofical , cyberdyne's research will not have stopped ever.. ppl would continue it. also T1 had T800 arm was lost T2 also had many things left unexplained.. no scientific research is stored in only one place they hvmany back ups of research. T3 is the natural step.. we dont like it coz we like to BS ourselves that we can play ball but choose to not get hit in da nutz.. which is day dream at best or arrogance at worst and truth is we are arrogant.. T3 makes perfect sense.. not T2 happy ending because we constantly create things that end humanity.. like toxic polymers, nuclear/ bio weap0ns , AI etc. T3 is a really great movie in its own right . i always loved T3 and T4 the natural sequence to terminator.. and T850 in T3 has better life lessons than any other Terminator movie combined.. T800 in T2 was lacking info on human behaviour but in T3 the T850 has database on human behaviour he even says.. humans are a self destructive species. and that anger is better than despair.. is a masterpiece of a dialogue. sigh.. well i dont want anyone's approval.. jus happy to see T3 and T4 getting the love they deserved , even if its little.. better tha. nothing we don't know value of something when some time has passed or its lost. T3 may at times be off tone , hv misplaced humor (tho i liked it.. didnt feel too much in the face but can understand if ppl didnt like it.. everbody has different expectations) also T2 also had corny jokes and moments.. jus applying a blue tint doens't make it a serious movie by itself T3 could hv been better filmed.. yes , perhaps thats true. but tell me.. doesn't every movie hv some kinda flaw.. in big picture T3 and T4 is more poignant than T2 coz it also tell is about the inevitable, the consequences of our actions ppl love to dodge consequences of their actions thats why ppl love similar things to T2 T3 tells us a real life lesson.. u play, u pay simple as that.. T4 also has good message.. power of human heart that can't be put into chip.. indicating the human hope for a better future where as a computer chip according to its calculation will say otherwise i like T1 -T4 very very much. they are all perfect tie up the cycle of terminator would hv lover the T4 trilogy they were planning but ppl are ppl.. they didnt watch T4 T5 was meh.. quite unnecessary but okay.. cool robo fight action flick movie if u will.. not that.. BAD T6.. i dont even wanna talk about it.. its a sorry excuse for a film.. set pieces might be good but as terminator fan.. its utter BS and ppl ride cameron bandwagon shut their eyes and ears on this crap love to bully T3 😂 so my take.. T3 and T4 are perfect and most natural follow up of T2 and they are NOT UN NECESSARY they needed to be made.. to see the AI launching nukes (T3) and The Big War man vs Machine (T4) also the ps2 game of T3 had a masterpiece of an ending terminator t850 arnie.. survies the crystal peak BooM 💥 and connor later recover his chip and put it into the big machine gun wielding Robos Hell fighters or whatever they are called. actually even at the end of T3 the eye of T850 is lighting red for few secs.. implying he is damaged but CPU is safe. so. yeah.. flaws it has but what beautiful thing doesn't have flaw. and T3 is great, needed and worthy in all ways to be a Terminator film. @calisthenicsmachine9725

The scene of the plane crashing in the cornfield in the movie clip has occurred in real events, namely Air Inter Flight 148 in 1992, U.S Airways Flight 1016 in 1994, ASA Flight 529 in 1995, Korean Air Flight 801 in 1997 and 2005 TANS Peru Flight 204. The five planes crashed in a manner similar to scenes in movies.
